Michael Hermann and Gina Lunn are a glassblowing team located in San Clemente, Ca. Michael began his glassblowing career in Maryland as an apprentice at Art of Fire. He has studied at Red Deer, Canada and at the Studio at the historic Corning Museum of Glass, New York.
Inspired by Italian masterpieces, he studied with Elio Quarisa and also apprenticed under Gianni Toso, absorbing age-old techniques long kept secret by Muranese culture. Michael was the recipient of the 2008 Niche Award.
Gina’s study of art glass began at Palomar College in San Marcos, Ca. She was able to further her experience by attending workshops with accomplished instructors Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen, Laura Donefer, Ross Richmond, and Stephen Powell. She worked as a production assistant for six years before teaming up with Michael.
Michael and Gina have been blowing glass together since 2005 using traditional Venetian cane techniques. Sharing similar interests and motivation with the medium, their past experience and knowledge quickly grew into the designs you enjoy today.
Michael and Gina’s work has been featured in such magazines as American Style and Niche. They exhibit their artwork in the Festival of Arts/Pageant of Masters in Laguna Beach each summer as well.
