The History
Former gallery partners Steve Solinsky and John Mowen, created this gallery originally based on Steve's photographs and Johns sculptures. After Mowen's passing in 2014, Franceska Alexander decided to continue the business of the gallery under a new name, so as to keep it from closing its long esteemed doors.
The Alexander Gallery, is located in downtown Nevada City and has been filled with unique fine art and furniture since May 2004. Artworks range from classical to whimsical with an exhibition space housed in a 1850s building. The gems are always the recent works from over 100 artists in every medium, including painting, sculpture, jewelry, fiber arts, photography, furniture and more.
The Alexander Gallery is grateful for the thousands of artists and patrons over the last twelve years who have recognized this location as a place to see, learn, appreciate and of course purchase fine art in Nevada County.
On April 16, 2018,
the original gallery ownership & management changed.
